By being disciples of Christ, we make Stewardship a Way of Life throughout our parish with Eucharist, Prayer, and Joyful Sharing. Stewardship is alive in each of us. It is shown by our spirit of welcoming, hospitality, and a sense of ownership that St. Sabina Parish is our family. By developing and sharing our gifts of time, talent and treasure, we express our commitment, gratitude and reverence to our loving God who is the source of all.
Just as in the Parable of the Talents, our God is the owner of everything. He is the master who has entrusted many gifts to us. Someday He will return and ask, “What did you do with the gifts I gave to you? Will He be pleased with our report? Will we hear His invitation to lasting joy, “Well done, my good and faithful servant…Come, share your master’s joy.” Matthew 25:21
Each family that registers at Saint Sabina is asked to use envelopes on a weekly or monthly basis to help support the many ministries of the parish community. We give back to God in Stewardship out of a tremendous gratitude for all that we have been given. Our bishop suggests that the traditional tithe of 10% of our goods back to God be divided as follows:
5% of our gross income be given to our Parish of Saint Sabina over the year in envelopes.
1% of our gross income be given to the Diocese through the annual appeal of the Bishop.
4% of our gross income be given to other charities of our choice such as the special collections that are often taken to assist world charities.
In January the parish will mail a statement of our recorded donations to each household for their records and for IRS purposes.
Quarterly the parish mails us an update of our gifts. Every month the parish has envelope packets mailed to each household.
There are many ways that families can give to Saint Sabina Parish to assist in the many ministries of the parish. Please feel free to call the pastor or business manager to ask further questions about leaving a legacy of goodness to our faith community at Saint Sabina in Belton.
